One of the cultural notes discussed in the audiobook is the typical Italian menu, which is composed of...yes, an antipasto, the primo and secondo piatti (singular is "piatto"...which may remind you of that <i>chichiria</i> called "Piattos" ;-) and the contorna and bevanda. The funny thing is that, in the audiobook, one of the characters in the sample dialogue (a British tourist) also had the same surprised reaction upon seeing the food on the table :P haha I don't know if someone told you this, but "I Santi Gelateria e Pizzeria" translates to "The Holy Ice Cream Bar and Pizza Parlor" Cute name, really ;-) Anyway, glad to read this post about getting to San Giovanni di Rotondo, could use the information someday in case I plan to go to Italy. Was about to ask if you were able to get close to the mortal remains of Padre Pio, but I'm getting ahead of myself, I'll just wait for the next post.
